Dr. Richard G. Calo: I have three boys in the Schuylerville School System. They love it. They began in Kindergarten, are now in grades 1 and 3 (I have twins) - so I've had time to assess the system as a parent by participating in my childrens' experience. Academically, their progress has been remarkable; math, reading, writing - the usual curricula - they handle it all with ease and I can tell they are not learning by mere rote but are being taught the concepts that underlie the work. Socially, the environment has been welcoming and friendly, and the after-school program in particular has become extremely important to them. Best of all, they _love_ learning and look forward to going to school every day, and the only thing I can attribute this love to are their teachers and environment since the wrong teachers and wrong environment can do considerable harm (something I know from experience). The statstics all say how the Schuylerville School System is outstanding - low teacher to student ratio, high test ratings, plenty of money in the system for curricular and extra-curricular activities, and so on. That's what initially led us to move to this area, a strong school system. But now my children and I have had the chance to experience the real thing, and we have not been disappointed. My expectations have been met and certainly exceeded.
Mildred Allen: I think Schuylerville schools are the best. They are a hometown school and have alot of school spirit and the students feel a good uplift there. It is not too big that a child can get lost in the red tape. They are friendly and they make the place enjoyable. Nice country style school with good academics. My children attended there and now my grandchildren are attending.
Diane Watterson: Our new home is located less than five minutes from the school and we purchased the home with the Schuylerville school in mind, after extensive research. Our two boys, both in Elementary, couldn't be happier. They love the school, their friends, the teachers, the playgrounds and wonderful after-school program - everything.

Academics and Beyond
In addition to traditional academic courses, our students are able to take advantage of a wide variety of programs, including advanced placement classes, distance learning courses, a multi-year authentic research class, career exploration experiences and college credit-bearing courses. Our learners use the latest technology. Computer instruction is given at every grade level and the latest technological equipment is integrated into daily classroom activities and also in specialized graphic arts, engineering, agriculture, music and photography courses. This commitment to student achievement means our students consistently score well on standardized exams.
Schuylerville’s extracurricular activities complement the formal education students receive, resulting in well-rounded graduates who value lifelong learning and become caring, productive members of society. Students can participate in clubs devoted to many different interest areas—from community service to art, music and foreign cultures. Our athletic program has more than 40 teams from which to choose. All of these opportunities combine to extend learning opportunities far beyond the typical school day.
Upon graduation, our students often attend prestigious colleges and universities—RIT, Emerson College, Texas A&M, Fordham University, Cornell University, Penn State, University of Southern California, Rensselaer and Hartwick College, just to name a few.
